Due to misaligned tie-rod assemblies, Chrysler is conducting three recalls of nearly 1.2 million pickups. The company is planning on inspecting 2003 to 2008 model-year Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. There will be about 842,400 pickups recalled from these models. With the misaligned tie-rod assemblies, component fracture and steering loss could be a result to the defect. Two additional recalls that cover another 294,000 vehicles that include the model-year 2008 to 2012 Ram 2500 to 3500 pickups and cabs. Also included in the recall are 43,500 model-year 2008 to 2012 Ram 4500 and 5500 4×4 chassis cabs. The automaker is said to be aware of a total of seven accidents and two injuries involving the affected models. Owners of the recalled vehicles are told to bring their vehicle to Chrysler Group dealers and replacements parts may not be available until late 2014 on some models. Overall, 968,000 vehicles were affected in the United States, 157,000 in Canada, 37,1000 in Mexico, and 18,000 others were affected outside the NAFTA area.
