Due to the increase of risk of a fire, General Motors is recalling 221,558 Cadillac XTS and Chevrolet Impalas sedans. The recall include Cadillacs from the 2013 through 2015 and Impalas from 2014 and 2015 model years. Out of the total 221,558 recalls, only 205,309 were located in the United States, and the rest, elsewhere. General Motors state that the electric parking break arm that applies pressure to the back of the brake pads may not fully retract after use. So far, no injuries or accidents are related to the issue. Owners will be notified by General Motors and offered free repair.
