The new 2014 Cadillac ELR is both brilliantly sculpted and a breathtaking coupe. Like Chevy, the ELR runs on electricity and has a conventional internal-combustion engine aboard that runs a generator to keep the lithium-ion battery pack in the car charged up. With the Cadillac’s exterior, the ELR has aluminum-hooded nose tapers which reduce the impression of bulk. Also, the leading edges of the headlights are more precisely crafted, the rear deck is more faceted, and the LED taillights help enhance the fin. You can also add a closed front grille. The 2014 Cadillac ELR has 106.1 inch wheelbase. The front seats provide a good amount of legroom, but for the rear seats, they are made more suitable for smaller objects like handbags or dogs. Moving on to interior, throughout the cockpit, there are fitted superlative materials including rich-looking micro-fiber headliner, real matte-finished wood, hand-stitched leather elements, high quality “piano black” plastics, and brushed metal. Under the hood, the ELR has a total horsepower of 207 and 295 lb-ft of torque. Estimated 0 to 60 mph is about 8.2 seconds when the gas-fired engine is extending the range and 9.1 seconds when the ELR is operating on just electricity. The 2014 Cadillac ELR driver also has the option of four driving modes. The default mode on the ELR is the Tour Mode. The other three options are Sport, Mountain, or Hold mode. Starting base price is 75,995.
