Everyone has heard or seen a Camaro and its sporty beauty before, and if you haven’t you’re sure missing out! Assembled in Oshawa, Ontario, the new 2013 Chevrolet Camaro is the fifth generation of its kind. The last Camaro was redesigned back in 2010 with their 2010 model, and the 2013 Camaro isn’t too different. You have a choice of different trims including the Chevrolet Camaro 1LS Coupe, which is the base model, the Camaro 2LS Coupe, 1LT Camaro Coupe, 2LT Camaro Coupe, 1SS Camaro Coupe, 2SS Camaro Coupe, 1LT Camaro Convertible, 2LT Camaro Convertible, 1SS Camaro Convertible, 2SS Camaro Convertible, and our most expensive model, the Camaro ZL1. These trims price between $24,245 to $56,550, depending on which model you choose and prefer. Also, a sporty 1LE Performance Package on the SS models is new, which comes with a sportier suspension, manual transmission, unique gearing, and high-performance tires.
Standard, under the hood, is a six-speed manual transmission with a six-speed automatic transmission as an option. With the LS and LT Camaro models, it comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that generates 323 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. Improvements include more power and efficiency and have a redesigned cylinder head designed with exhaust manifolds, larger intake values, new fuel pump, stronger and lighter connecting rods, and so many other improved features. The Chevrolet Camaro LS models have a fair fuel economy with the automatic transmission. You receive 19 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.
Like the Chevrolet Camaro coupe models, the convertible models come equipped fairly the same, but you get a power soft top with acoustical foam in the headliner to minimize the noise while you have the top up. The SS model has a 6.2-liter V8 engine with a 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque with the six-speed automatic. You also have the option of a 426 horsepower, 420 pound-feet of torque with a six-speed manual transmission.
The best of all the 2013 Camaro models, the ZL1 uses a supercharged version of the 6.2-liter V8 engine. This supercharged version generates an outstanding 580 horsepower and 556 pound-feet of torque. With a top speed of 184 mph, in just 3 seconds, the ZL1 model can accelerate from 0 to 60. At only $56,550, this is a cheap price for this car’s performance and worth every penny.
Safety equipment is standard on all of the 2013 models. Features include anti-lock brakes, frontal, front side, and curtain airbags, tire pressure monitor, and stability and traction control.
Exterior wise, you have a longer, wider, and taller body, but have the look of the 1967 original Camaro. You have the classic 1969 headlights, a black mesh grille, aluminum hood, long shark nose hood, which is what always catches consumer’s attention, gills located just before the rear wheels, power dome hood, cooling gills, and so many other improved and gorgeous exterior features.
With the interior, you have the standard cloth bucket seats, low bolsters, leather upholstery, which is available in numerous colors, climate control buttons on the center stack (only used for looks, not for use), small windows, a deep trunk, folding power for convertible tops that folds in a Z-pattern, adjustable front seat and steering wheel, so any one of all sizes can sit comfortably, and many other interior features.
The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro, not only is one of the best in its class, but it’s a must have for Camaro lovers. If you’re into fast cars with a sporty, luxury look, take a test drive in this car, and you’ll never want to drive anything else.
