We all know and love the Chevrolet Malibu. Now, the new 2014 Chevrolet Malibu is quickly being updated and renovated. The Chevy Malibu is just the cherry on top in the midsize-sedan market. This family fun car is perfect for a nice, smooth ride. What are new about the 2014 Malibu from the old are features like the fuel-saving start-stop technology, a bigger torque, and an improvement in suspension and chassis to make it a smooth ride. Chevy’s Malibu is known for its quiet and calm rides, and why change something that is already true to its name. Under the hood, you have a choice of three engines. You have an enhanced base engine of 2.5-liter Ecotec 4-cylinder and 196 horsepower and an improved fuel economy of about 35 mpg highways. Only transmission Malibu offers is a 6-speed automatic with the option of a manual-shift. All trims are front-wheel drive. Regular unleaded gas can be used on all versions of the Malibu to run on, but for the turbo model, it’s best to run on premium. While most vehicles will have an option of a hybrid, with the Chevy Malibu, you get the GM’s eAssist. The eAssist consist of a lithium-ion battery and a small motor-generator. The motor-generator adds an additional 15 horsepower during a high acceleration in the start-stop system. The eAssist gives the Malibu a fuel economy of 36 mpg, only one over the standard Malibu. On the interior, the 2014 has increased its rear-passenger room and seats 5 comfortably as well as a good size trunk space. You have a choice of three trims: LS, LT, and LTZ along with the eAssist model with the LT trim. Standard features that come in all the 2014 Malibu’s are 10 airbags and a half year trial of OnStar safety and communications system which includes automatic crash response. The 2014 Malibu is retailed at just under $23,000.
