Porsche is known for their luxury sports cars like the Porsche 911 and Boxster. Now, the third generation 2014 Porsche Cayman is making its way. The all-new Cayman has two options to choose from, base and S. The main difference between the two is that the Cayman has a 2.7-liter 275-horsepower flat 6-cylinder engine while the Cayman S has a 3.4-liter 325-horsepower version. Both come with the standard 6-speed manual transmission. There is a variety of options for a near-custom build instead of having trim levels. Some examples of new options are keyless entry, up to 20-inch wheels, and a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a PDK transmission (computer-controlled and shifted dual-clutch manual gearbox.) The exterior bodywork on the new 2014 Cayman has a new and smoother look and shape. Under the hood, there is a good amount of mechanical and technical upgrades as well. The engines are about 15 percent more fuel efficient giving the 2014 Porsche Cayman about 30 mpg highway. There is an extensive amount of interior options. Like the exterior, with the amount and variety of options to choose from for the interior, you can have a near-custom layout. One of the best features of the mid-engine layout is having two trunks, the rear trunk and the front trunk above the engine. The front trunk below the roof of the engine is known as the “luggage room.” Only small, light items should be stored in the front trunk. On the road, the Cayman is good short or long distance. To see what the Cayman is fully capable of, it’s best to drive on the open road. If you’re a sports car lover, the 2014 Porsche Cayman is just right for you. Starting price for the Cayman is about $52,600 while the starting price for the Cayman S is about $63,800.
